Nothin' like the blues. This song made it's first appearance on the blues chart on July 14, 2005 and this upright performance is back again. "Jersey Bright" is hanging around on the Chicago style hot doggin' chart and has entered the Blues Top 10 at Broadjam today. A few weeks ago PJ was able to meet and personally thank Corky Siegel for the great influence he had on PJ as a young and impressionable fan.

John Douglas Edwards was born to Eternal Life Friday, December 8, 2006 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 51 years. I met John our freshman year at Marquette High.  He was bright but without guile and has made life long friends everywhere he went.  John had always been active in his faith and in parish life.  For several years he helped to coordinate the first retreat of the year at the Jesuit Retreat House in Oshkosh.  He shines as a true disciple. Family and friends can only grasp at the Divine plan. We’re not ready to be in a world without John Edwards, but we’re better prepared because he was with us.  He walked the walk and we’ll dearly miss him. PJ Novotny

The musically inclined jam in the park at the first Downtown Battle of the Bands on Tuesday, August 1 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. in Cathedral Square Park, home of the wildly popular Jazz in the Park. At least one member of each band must work in Downtown Milwaukee. Eight bands have been selected to compete! Celebrity judges will choose the winners and 'jam' following the competition until 9 p.m. Reed joins the panel of celebrity judges including John Shiely of Briggs & Stratton Corp., Kevin Brandt of WKLH-FM (96.5), Bill Bonifas of The Polacheck Co., and Jim Lombardo of Bell Ambulance. "Rock and Roll Me Over" has moved from #4. Reed's 4:00 A.M. pot boiler has been stepping through #3, #2, and into #1 over the long weekend. This song caught Larry Carlton's attention when it was being recorded in the next room. Nice to see that it has a Broadjam appeal.

Back to the School of Rock with a classic Reed ad lib: In mid August “Rock and Roll Me Over” entered the Rock Classic Top 10 at #9. This is classic guitar driven rock over a 4/4 to 5/4 flip that gets your toes’ attention, but PJ likes the lyric. Reed gets a kick out of that – it was a live ad lib as tape rolled.
